Musical Enrichment

Downe House has a wealth of musical ensembles for girls at all levels, from beginners to diploma-standard instrumentalists and singers. This page gives an insight to the many group music making opportunities that your daughters have available to them. All ensembles rehearse weekly and there are many concerts, both formal and informal, throughout the year at which the ensembles perform.

Being a member of an ensemble not only allows the girls to explore a great variety of musical styles and enjoy making music with friends, but also helps them gain in self-confidence and nurture musical and performing skills as well as an insight and passion for the subject. There are also a number of student-led groups.
