Elinor Harvey (2003) is taking a three year course on Couple and Individual Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy.

The course is going really well. It's been up and down at times as there is not only a large commitment time-wise but also as psychotherapy training it is a lot more intensive in other ways than other typical academic courses. I think we all went into it underestimating how mentally challenging and exhausting it would be, but I'm so proud to have made it through the first year and still feeling excited and positive about what's to come. The mix of theoretical learning, clinical skill development and reflective thinking has led to a very diverse experience throughout the year and I've met people from all different walks of life who I might not normally get the opportunity to work alongside. Ultimately I feel very privileged to be on such a fascinating and well-recognised training course, and also very grateful to DHSA for supporting me with it. I'm still 2 years away from being a fully qualified Relationship Therapist but I'm more certain than ever that this is the right track for my career.
