Downe House Musicians perform in concert for Christian Aid
The Downe House orchestral groups and choirs performed in a concert held at St John’s Church in Newbury on Sunday 26 February to raise funds for Christian Aid.
There was an excellent turn-out of friends, family and staff as well as attendees from the church community and everyone enjoyed the wonderful performances.
The Senior Choral, In Harmony and Twice Removed came together for a sublime performance of Caccini’s Ave Maria and the Symphony Orchestra gave a stunning performance of Robert Sheldon’s Resurgences.
The concert raised over £1100 for Christian Aid.
Director of Music, Dr Charlotte Exon said, “The St John’s concert has given us a wonderful opportunity to showcase our choral and orchestral groups and we are most grateful to everyone who came to the concert to support our musicians and for their generous donations to Christian Aid.”
