Itís all about the House

Preparation was intense, the competition fierce and pride was at stake. In a real team effort, the girls worked hard and supported each other to make these competitions one of the highlights of the term, bringing together all age groups.

In House Dance, commendations must go to the individual House choreographers, Monique Leong for Aisholt, Kate Lau for AGS, Jameliah Adekunle and Sacha Martin for Holcombe, Ella Houston and Eloise Percy-Davis for AGN and Ella Bishop for Tedworth. Miss Vallance, whose choreography talents are legendary throughout the School, was joined by Kane D Ricca as a judge for the evening.

Ella Bishop won the prize for most outstanding choreography, best individual performance was won by Sophie Armitage, group dance winners were Aisholt, workshop winners were AGS and the overall House Dance trophy 2017 was awarded to Aisholt. Congratulations!

In House Gym, the gymnasts competed on beam, vault and floorwork to a packed audience in the Farr Centre, supported by their respective Upper Fifth House Gym Captains. The six-week rehearsal period created much anticipation. Lifting the cup this year was Holcombe, making Housemistress Mrs Mears-Smith very proud.

Special congratulations also go to Clara Dutertre-Delaunay for best individual floor performance and vault, Carina Bischoff and Cleo Dutertre-Delaunay for beam, and to the Tedworth girls Victoria Aarons, Sophie Armitage, Rose Cornell, Romilly Cox and Olivia Pockney for their group floor performance.

In addition, recognition was given to Captains Victoria Aarons, Abby Dolbear, Jocasta Ferrigno and Olivia Pockney for leading and supporting their teams during the course of the competition.

House spirit is alive and well.
