We are absolutely delighted for our Class of 2024 who received their A Level results today. The girls’ enthusiasm for learning, and commitment and dedication to their studies, has been rewarded with impressive results and they are now set to take their places at some of the world’s leading universities and institutions. 

Our girls are heading to many of the UK’s top universities. They will study a remarkable breadth of courses, including Medicine at Oxford and Bristol; Classics at Oxford; Aerospace Engineering, Medicinal Chemistry and Mathematics with Physics at Manchester University; Biomedical Engineering at Imperial; English Literature at Edinburgh; Comparative Literature at UCL; Politics at Newcastle; Dentistry at King’s College London; and Fine Art at The University of the Arts, London. 

As well as leading universities across the length and breadth of the UK, some students are heading to prestigious destinations across the world. These include Tara who won a place at IE (Spain) to read Communications and Digital Media. A range of international institutions will be welcoming Downe House girls, including the University of Toronto (Canada) and Boston University (USA).

Overall, 26% of all our girls’ grades are at A*, 59% are A*-A and 82% A*-B. These percentages are expected to rise as remarks and adjustments are made. 

Amongst them, three girls achieved an outstanding 4 or more A* grades, including Jocelyn with an astonishing A* A* A* A* who is absolutely delighted to be taking her place to study Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London. Also gaining 4 A* grades (including an A* in their Extended Project Qualifications) are Alice and Angela (UVI), who are off to read Medicine at Oxford University and Chemistry with Medicinal Chemistry at the University of Manchester, respectively.  

At Downe House, we have a strong focus on preparing our students to be ‘world ready’, giving them the knowledge, and the skills and know-how to face their futures with confidence – and the Class of 2024 are now all set to do just that. We congratulate each and every student on their results and wish them well as they take their next steps beyond Downe House and join our global alumnae community.
