Downe HouseRich and rewarding activities

The richness of learning provided within the classroom only goes part way to illustrate the opportunities that boarding at Downe House brings. Believing in the importance of providing a broad and balanced education, we offer a comprehensive range of Co-Curricular activities, with something to suit everyone.

The Co-Curricular Department provide wonderfully active and busy weekends and evenings for our girls. Designed to instil a sense of adventure, encourage each girl's natural curiosity and inspire a thirst for knowledge, our programme is extensive. In fact, with such a full range of activities and opportunities in the evenings and at the weekends, there is simply never time to be bored.

There is a tremendous range of experiences and all activities and events give the girls a chance to challenge and enjoy themselves in their learning about the world around them and their place within it. Activities at weekends or in the evenings build upon, and take place around, the yearly programme of major events, such as House Drama, Dance Showcase, Music or Founder's Weekend, Duke of Edinburgh Award, the School Concerts and Sports Day, as well as numerous excellent charity fund raising events.
