Launch of Global Schools’ Exchange Programme

Parents of girls in the Upper Fourth were given the opportunity to find out more about the opportunity for their daughters to take part in the Global Exchange Programme.

17 March 2020

At this year’s launch event, Mrs McKendrick kicked off proceedings by describing the choice of 16 partner schools across six continents and what they offer in terms of experience and activities, the timings and logistics of each option along with how the selection process works. Two of last year’s exchange students, Mathilda and Honor then spoke about their amazing trip to Welham Girls’ School in India and their experience of such a different culture. The girls showed a video they had made of their time in India which highlighted all the activities they enjoyed, the sightseeing trips and the wonderful people they met.

Tabitha, Georgina and Ada in the Upper Fifth report,

We were so excited to find out about this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and it was particularly interesting to hear from Mathilda and Honor about how they experienced a new culture and made lifelong friends along the way. We think that going on an exchange trip will make us more independent and give us a much better understanding of another culture. We all agreed that we really want to take part in the Global Schools’ Exchange Programme.
