The Lower Fifth (Year 10) and Upper Fifth (Year 11) pupils studying Spanish for GCSE have started a new project with a Spanish high school. The main objective is to communicate with an online but real friend in the target language they are learning.
The girls wrote a postcard introducing themselves and explaining some things about Downe House, the country, or their hobbies and sent it to them for Christmas. They are now receiving postcards from Spain and are so excited to read about their Spanish pen pals.
This project will continue during the year as the girls experiment with the language in other ways – through an email, online call and even creating a personalised video.
